Seminar: Historic Tax Credits for your Historic Building

Summary: The Federal Historic Preservation Tax Incentives program encourages the private sector rehabilitation of historic buildings through financial incentives. Since the establishment of the program in 1976, communities have been revitalized through the rehabilitation of abandoned or under-used historic schools, warehouses, factories, churches, retail stores, apartments, hotels, and offices. In order to qualify for the tax credit, a building must be income producing, substantially rehabilitated and listed in the National Register of Historic Places (individually or as a contributing element of a historic district). The rehabilitation must follow the Secretary of the Interior's Standards for Rehabilitation, which are designed to allow for the adaptive reuse of a building while ensuring its historic character is retained. Richard Grubb & Associates will discuss the Federal tax credit program and how you might qualify.
